Every summer, Erie, PA, comes alive with the energy and excitement of Discover Presque Isle. This beloved event celebrates the natural beauty and vibrant community of Presque Isle State Park, drawing locals and visitors alike to enjoy a week filled with outdoor activities and unforgettable experiences. As a photographer with a deep love for this event, I’m always thrilled to capture the moments that make Discover Presque Isle so special.
The beaches of Presque Isle are the heart of this event, offering a picturesque setting for everything from lighthouses to sunset strolls. Whether it’s the golden hour light reflecting off the water or the laughter of children playing in the sand, these moments are a photographer’s paradise.
A highlight for me is Kite Beach, where the sky comes alive with a kaleidoscope of colors as kites of all shapes and sizes dance in the breeze. The sight of these kites against the backdrop of Lake Erie is breathtaking, and I’m always eager to capture the joy and wonder on the faces of those watching and participating.
One of my favorite parts of Discover Presque Isle is the beach bonfire. There’s something magical about gathering around a crackling fire with the community and sound of the waves in the background. It’s a scene that begs to be photographed, with the warm glow of the fire casting a golden light on the faces of friends and families.
And let’s not forget the fire dancers—one of the most mesmerizing spectacles at Discover Presque Isle. The skill and artistry of these performers, combined with the rhythmic beats of the bands playing in the background, create a visual feast that’s both thrilling and captivating.
